Mancano 180 medici nelle ambulanze in Sicilia: l’allarme dei sindacati e l’intervento dell’assessore regionale alla Sanità, Daniela Faraoni.

In Sicilia per il servizio sanitario del 118 sono pronte a viaggiare al giorno 252 ambulanze, di cui 108 con medico a bordo. E ciò in base alle norme nazionali che prevedono un medico ogni 60.000 abitanti. Da alcuni anni, tuttavia, non si dispone dei 4,5 medici per postazione. Ad esempio, a Palermo, su 90 medici necessari, nelle ambulanze sono circa 50. Molti degli specializzati che hanno seguito i corsi preferiscono optare per la medicina di base e non per le ambulanze. Gli ultimi bandi per reclutare i medici cosiddetti “Est” (Emergenza sanitaria territoriale) sono stati più o meno deserti. L’assessore regionale alla Sanità, Daniela Faraone, conferma e commenta: “Il servizio di emergenza-urgenza 118 in Sicilia è in grave difficoltà. La carenza cronica di medici d’urgenza su tutto il territorio nazionale, a cui si aggiungono le assenze per ferie e malattie del restante personale, provoca problemi innegabili, su cui è indispensabile intervenire in maniera organica. Bisogna rispondere alle esigenze degli utenti. Occorre lavorare per una riorganizzazione complessiva dei servizi di emergenza” – conclude Faraone. Il sindacato Fials (Federazione italiana autonoma lavoratori sanità) e la Federazione medici del territorio rilanciano e denunciano: “I mezzi di soccorso, a causa della carenza di personale, sono costretti spesso a viaggiare con un solo autista soccorritore e un medico o un infermiere, quando invece la normativa prevede che l’equipaggio debba essere formato da almeno tre elementi. Gli equipaggi depotenziati si ripercuotono sulla responsabilità professionale dei sanitari e causano gravi disservizi perché si impiegano più mezzi di soccorso per lo stesso intervento in supporto all’equipaggio depotenziato. E ciò a danno della qualità e della tempestività dei soccorsi, a rischio della salute dei cittadini. Invochiamo un’audizione all’Assemblea Regionale con le commissioni Salute e Bilancio.”
