Aricò: “Il ponte e anche le strade”

Le riserve sul ponte sullo Stretto del direttore del Consorzio autostrade siciliane, Fazio, e la replica dell’assessore Aricò: “300 milioni già stanziati per potenziare anche le strade in Sicilia”.

L’assessore regionale a Infrastrutture e Trasporti, il “fratello d’Italia” Alessandro Aricò, ha appena ritenuto opportuno intervenire in replica ai contrari, o quanto meno scettici, alla costruzione del ponte sullo stretto di Messina, come il direttore del Cas, il Consorzio autostrade siciliane, Franco Fazio, secondo cui “la rete autostradale siciliana non sarà in grado di sopportare l’aggravio di traffico di mezzi pesanti durante la lunga fase di cantiere, né il nuovo traffico di mezzi pesanti e leggeri derivanti dal ponte stesso, una volta costruito”. Aricò ribadisce che il ponte è un’opera strategica, che il governo regionale sostiene da sempre e con convinzione, per rendere la Sicilia più connessa e competitiva, per asfaltare il corridoio Berlino – Palermo. E a riprova di ciò la Regione Siciliana contribuisce ai costi con 1 miliardo e 300 milioni di euro. E alla ricorrente critica secondo cui bisogna privilegiare il recupero delle strade in Sicilia e poi occuparsi del ponte, Aricò controbatte: “Siamo in prima linea per realizzare tutte le opere connesse al ponte, a partire dal miglioramento del sistema viario. Nell’ambito dell’accordo con il governo nazionale sul Fondo di sviluppo e coesione, abbiamo stanziato 300 milioni di euro per potenziare le nostre autostrade, a cominciare dalla Palermo-Messina e dalla Messina Catania”. E su quanto dichiarato dal direttore del Cas, Fazio, l’assessore commenta: “Posso solo dire che mi hanno suscitato una grande amarezza perché si tratta di esternazioni che sembrano improvvisate, che non sono mai state condivise né con la governance dell’ente né con il mio assessorato. Me ne rammarico perché saremmo stati certamente disponibili all’ascolto e al dialogo, avremmo avuto il modo di fornire rassicurazioni sui nostri programmi e di affrontare insieme, nell’ottica di una leale collaborazione istituzionale, ogni eventuale criticità”.
