Omicidio Contarini a Cattolica, condannato Ferrera

L’omicidio di Carmelo Contarini a Cattolica Eraclea: la Corte d’Assise di Agrigento ha condannato l’imputato, Giovanni Ferrera. I dettagli.

Il 13 settembre del 2023 il giudice per le indagini preliminari del Tribunale di Agrigento, Stefano Zammuto, ha disposto il giudizio immediato, quindi scavalcando il filtro dell’udienza preliminare ricorrendo l’evidenza della prova, di Giovanni Ferrera, 68 anni, di Cattolica Eraclea, imputato dell’omicidio, il 27 dicembre del 2022, del compaesano Carmelo Contarini, 51 anni, muratore. Ferrera, assistito dall’avvocato Ignazio Martorana, nel corso dell’interrogatorio di convalida avrebbe riferito: “Ho incontrato Contarini per discutere di alcuni lavori fatti per conto di una mia cugina, e di cui lei non era rimasta soddisfatta. Poi mi sono difeso dalla sua reazione”. Contarini è stato trafitto al torace da una sola coltellata. Ebbene adesso la Corte d’Assise di Agrigento, presieduta dal giudice Wilma Mazzara, ha condannato Giovanni Ferrera a 14 anni e 2 mesi di reclusione. I giudici hanno concesso all’imputato le attenuanti generiche e hanno escluso dal movente i futili motivi. E’ stato condannato al pagamento di una provvisionale ai familiari della vittima che si sono costituiti parte civile tramite gli avvocati Giovanna Morello e Paolo Grillo. Ferrara con un coltello a serramanico ha pugnalato Contarini al petto, morto subito, cascando in un canalone dell’acqua piovana che costeggia la sua abitazione, in via Agrigento, a Cattolica Eraclea. Poi il pensionato, che si ipotizza essere stato diretto verso la caserma per costituirsi, è stato raggiunto e placcato dai Carabinieri. Se ciò non fosse stato, Ferrera sarebbe stato incastrato, perchè il luogo del delitto è spiato dagli occhi delle telecamere di video-sorveglianza montate dal Comune. Lui ha consegnato il coltello, e, dopo l’interrogatorio, è stato trasferito in carcere, al “Pasquale Di Lorenzo”, in contrada Petrusa ad Agrigento. Giovanni Ferrera e Carmelo Contarini si sarebbero conosciuti da tempo. I loro appezzamenti di terreno in campagna sarebbero confinanti.
