“Omicidio Passafiume”: le motivazioni della sentenza

Depositate le motivazioni della sentenza d’Appello di condanna del siculianese Filippo Sciara per l’omicidio dell’imprenditore di Cianciana Diego Passafiume.

Lo scorso 15 gennaio la Corte d’Assise d’Appello di Palermo ha confermato la sentenza emessa il 15 dicembre del 2023 dai giudici della Corte d’Assise di Agrigento, presieduta da Wilma Mazzara, che hanno condannato all’ergastolo Filippo Sciara, 59 anni, di Siculiana, già ergastolano e affiliato alla famiglia di Cosa Nostra di Siculiana, ritenuto l’esecutore materiale dell’omicidio, in concorso con altri, dell’imprenditore edile Diego Passafiume, assassinato il 22 agosto del 1993 a Cianciana perché non si sarebbe piegato alle regole e ai ricatti di Cosa Nostra. Passafiume fu ucciso il giorno del suo 19esimo anniversario di matrimonio, dentro la sua automobile con a bordo i familiari. Ebbene adesso i giudici hanno depositato le motivazioni per le quali è stato condannato Sciara. E sono stati svelati i riscontri probatori più di rilievo. Il collaboratore della giustizia di Porto Empedocle, Pasquale Salemi, ha indicato il boss di Cianciana, Giovanni Pollari, già ergastolano poi deceduto, come il mandante del delitto, e Sciara come esecutore, gravato anche dall’essere stato riconosciuto dalla moglie e da un nipote della vittima. In particolare, alla moglie di Passafiume nel 2016 furono mostrate tante foto di mafiosi agrigentini già condannati al maxi processo “Akragas”, e lei riconobbe Filippo Sciara come colui che sparò contro suo marito. “Con estrema certezza” – precisò. Poi i giudici si sono soffermati sull’attendibilità di Pasquale Salemi, morto il 26 aprile del 2022. E scrivono: “Salemi ha conosciuto Passafiume. Lo ha riconosciuto in foto. Ha conosciuto bene il territorio della Bassa Quisquina, dove ha soggiornato, in contatto con i più autorevoli esponenti mafiosi della zona, come Pollari. Ha conosciuto bene Filippo Sciara e Giuseppe Renna, indicandoli come soggetti di spicco delle famiglie mafiose del mandamento di Siculiana. Ha riconosciuto in foto Filippo Sciara, descrivendone la casa di campagna”.
