“Strage Ravanusa”: ribadita archiviazione per Italgas

L’esplosione da fuga di gas con 9 morti a Ravanusa: la Procura di Agrigento ribadisce la proposta di archiviazione in occasione dell’udienza di trattazione.

Come già accertato dai periti nel corso delle indagini preliminari, l’esplosione a Ravanusa in via Trilussa che l’11 dicembre del 2021 provocò 9 morti, fra cui una donna che avrebbe partorito dopo pochi giorni, sarebbe avvenuta “a causa delle gravi carenze nel processo di posa in opera e saldatura del tratto di tubazione del gas”. Le opere di raccordo delle due condotte, eseguite fra il 1985 e il 1988, sarebbero state eseguite in maniera maldestra. E nello stesso tratto, alcuni minuti prima dell’esplosione innescata dall’accensione di un elettrodomestico, si è verificato un cedimento strutturale che ha determinato una intensa fuga di gas. Due tecnici sono stati già rinviati a giudizio: l’ingegnere Guido Catalano, 77 anni, direttore tecnico di Siciliana Gas all’epoca, nel ’99, della posa della condotta di metano nella zona e firmatario del collaudo tecnico – amministrativo, e Carmelo Burgarello, 88 anni, responsabile tecnico della A.Mi.Ca. Srl, l’impresa incaricata dalla committente Siciliana gas di eseguire gli stessi lavori di posa della condotta incriminata. E la Procura di Agrigento ha invece proposto l’archiviazione delle indagini per altri dieci indagati, tutti a lavoro con Italgas, che solo dal 2008, quando si è fusa per incorporazione con Siciliana Gas, gestisce la rete del gas metano a Ravanusa. Ebbene all’archiviazione si sono opposti alcuni familiari delle vittime invocando l’imputazione coatta. E adesso, in occasione dell’udienza di trattazione, la Procura agrigentina ha ribadito le ragioni della proposta archiviazione, ovvero, in estrema sintesi, che l’Italgas ha eseguito correttamente e regolarmente le attività di manutenzione ordinaria e straordinaria della rete del gas, e che tali attività non avrebbero consentito di individuare l’errata installazione del raccordo, oggetto poi del cedimento strutturale. E’ attesa la decisione del giudice per le indagini preliminari.
