Pugilato nel carcere di Agrigento: l’ira del sindacato

Un detenuto di alta sicurezza ha colpito a pugni al volto un poliziotto penitenziario ad Agrigento. La reazione della sezione locale dell’Unione sindacati Polizia penitenziaria.

Ancora un’altra aggressione nel carcere di Agrigento. Al “Pasquale Di Lorenzo”, in contrada Petrusa, un detenuto di alta sicurezza ha assalito a pugni in faccia un assistente capo della Polizia penitenziaria. Lui, il bersaglio, è stato medicato nel locale pronto soccorso. Prognosi di sei giorni. La segreteria agrigentina del sindacato USPP, ovvero l’Unione sindacati Polizia penitenziaria, denuncia ancora le condizioni intollerabili del sistema penitenziario, e punta il dito anche contro il sistema Giustizia, accusandolo di procedere con ritardo e in modo poco efficace contro i comportamenti oltraggiosi a danno della forza pubblica. Ritiene non incisive le sanzioni in vigore a carico dei responsabili di aggressioni, minacce e offese ad un appartenente alle forze di Polizia, peraltro non sempre applicate. E quindi secondo il sindacato occorre adottare provvedimenti severi senza sconti per nessuno. Invece al detenuto aggressore ad Agrigento non è stata applicata la circolare che prevede il suo trasferimento fuori dal distretto siciliano delle carceri, a fronte delle numerose aggressioni contro il personale. Il sindacato definisce “gravissima” l’inerzia dell’Amministrazione penitenziaria regionale, che si ostina a mantenere detenuti all’interno di una struttura che non ha spazi sufficienti per ospitare detenuti che non rispettano le regole, rendendo l’ambiente di lavoro impossibile per tutti. Dalle poltrone degli uffici non riescono a percepire il disagio di coloro che subiscono tali condizioni. L’USPP di Agrigento lancia pertanto un appello alla segretaria nazionale del sindacato affinchè si intervenga nelle sedi opportune per affrontare con determinazione e risolvere una congiuntura negativa senza precedenti.
